Human materials intended for transplant in France must pass an HIV p24 antigen test, the French Ministry responsible for health has ruled. This is in addition to testing for anti-HIV 1/2 antibodies by two different techniques or reagents, including at least one combined EIA. Testing for hepatitis C is also required by two different techniques or reagents.
