Executive Summary
Short-stay patients undergoing general medical treatment, surgery or obstetrics in private centres in France will have medical dossiers. Private medical unions (UHP and FEHAP), the three national health insurers and three doctors' unions (CSMF, FMF and SML) signed an agreement in June to ratify the dossier, which will carry details of patient history and treatment. The dossier is designed to facilitate data transfer and control health spending through more co-ordinated treatment.
