US sales of Norland Medical Systems' OsteoAnalyser SXA3000 bone densitometer are due to begin in October. Designed for measuring bone mineral density in the primary care practitioner's office, the system is priced at $19,900. The company has sold over 750 pDEXA desktop densitometers since US introduction last year (see Clinica No 676, p 18).
