Executive Summary
A Spanish research team has designed a test to measure the fertility of sperm. The kit, developed at the El Consuelo clinic in Valencia, Spain, assesses the ability of spermatozoa to break the ovum membrane, which they do by releasing dissolving enzymes, reports Diario Medico. Carmen Blanco Esteve, co-ordinator of the clinic's reproduction unit, believes the fertility test is more reliable than measuring the number and motility of spermatozoa.
