Around 90% of French people support the strict cost-cutting measures employed to control social security and health spending. However, over half of respondents in a survey carried out by IPSOS in the French weekly, Le Point, claimed reimbursement for health products was worse than ten years ago. A quarter of those questioned claimed to have abandoned dental care due to cost. Eye inspections and specialist medical examinations were relinquished by 15% and 18% of people respectively due to cost. The survey was carried out in June and involved over 1,000 people.
