The fast-growing Asian economies will be investing a combined total of between $1,200 and $1,500 billion in healthcare infrastructure projects by 2004, believes Thailand's deputy prime minister, Amnuay Viravan. Asian Medical News quotes Mr Amnuay as saying that 50% of the spending will be in China, with another 40% in South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand.
