Elbit Ultrasound has received US marketing approval for its general purpose colour ultrasound system, Synergy. The PC-based system supports digital archiving and communications networks. Elbit, which is based in Haifa, Israel, has completed its acquisition of Elscint's ultrasound business and renamed it Diasonics Israel. Elbit believes a 2D spectral Doppler technique developed by Diasonics could have applications in the diagnosis of placental disorders.
