Executive Summary
Picker's Viewpoint computer-assisted surgery workstation has been cleared by the US FDA for intracranial surgical applications. The workstation was jointly developed by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Picker. It uses a free-hand 3D localiser and powerful computer technology to correlate MR and CT images of the head, enabling intra-operative guidance and precision placement. Cleveland, Ohio-based Picker says that Viewpoint interfaces with any DICOM-compatible MR or CT system and conforms to DICOM 3.0 communication standards.
