Some UK institutions have been told to stop stenting because of the cost, according to the man who inserted the first coronary stent in a human, Dr Ulrich Sigwart, of the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. He made the comment at The Stent Summit, a conference held in London at the end of May to celebrate the first ten years of stenting and plot the future of the block-buster devices.
