Research Medical (US) has introduced a vascular balloon-tipped catheter for the treatment of peripheral blood vessel obstructions. The catheter, which has a fibre-optic viewing lens and fluid irrigation lumen, will be the first in a line of vascular catheters and shunts to be introduced over the next fiscal year, says the company. The catheter will be available outside the US this month and the company hopes to receive FDA clearance for US release in the autumn.
