Romania's Health Ministry estimates that 80% of the country's medtech equipment is out-of-date. Since 1990, the Ministry has tried to replace existing systems as well as purchase new equipment and has targeted radiology, oncology, dialysis, cardiology and intensive care for particular attention, Bogdan Giurgea of the Ministry's medical equipment department told delegates at the recent Management Forum conference in Bucharest, Romania.
