In a move to speed up the introduction of comprehensive health insurance in China, a pilot scheme which has been running since 1995 in Zhenjiang and Jiujiang cities is to be expanded to another 50 cities, reports the SPAC. The Ministry of Health said last autumn that it hoped to have nationwide insurance in place within the next two years (see Clinica No 673, p 9).
