Vitatron launches Japan-specific pacemaker:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Vitatron Japan has introduced an implantable cardiac pacemaker designed specifically for the Japanese market. The Shinyu pacemaker is the first to be inscribed with the brand name - which means "friend of the heart" - in Japanese characters, says Japan Medical Review. The product has been given an official reimbursement price of ¥.58 million ($15,800). Dutch company Vitatron's pacemakers were sold in Japan through Baxter until December 1995. The Japanese subsidiary has now begun direct sales, however.
