PTCA often fails to normalise coronary flow reserve but stenting seems to succeed, researchers from the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, told cardiologists attending the ACC annual meeting in Orlando last week. Dr Terry Bowers said the improvement is probably due to better lumen enlargement, elimination of dissection and improved laminar-flow.
