Smiths Industries Medical Systems, an operating group of Smiths Industries (UK) has recently made two new appointments. Martin Jamieson is named managing director of Portex, succeeding Einar Lindh, who will become chairman of Smiths Industries Industrial Group. Mr Jamieson is currently managing director of Simcare, SIMS' community care specialist business. James Stitt is appointed president of SIMS Deltec, a US company acquired by Smiths Industries in 1994. Mr Stitt was formerly president of two American Home Products' subsidiaries.
