Executive Summary
The pain of diabetes-related peripheral neuropathy can be significantly reduced with a form of electrotherapy, claim researchers at the University of Southern California Medical Center. Writing in Diabetes Care (1997, vol 20, pp 1702-5) they report improvements in 15 out of 18 patients. They used an H-wave instrument, supplied by Electronic Waveform Lab, to give patients 35V, 4ms bipolar pulses via four skin-applied electrodes. Symptoms recurred a month after therapy stopped.
