Executive Summary
A US survey of 74 women with a family history of breast cancer found that 80% of them wanted to be screened for possession of the BRAC 1 and BRAC 2 breast cancer susceptibility genes. Most patients in the Moffat Cancer Center study in Florida said that knowing their susceptibility would motivate them to practice self-examination and go for mammography more frequently (Psychosomatic Medicine, Sept/Oct).
