Executive Summary

Norway's Department of Health and Social Affairs has set up an expert committee to examine ways of improving the country's acute healthcare services. The committee will assess each "link in the acute care chain", including hospitals and the ambulance service, and will propose criteria for medical equipment to be used in acute care, says the department. The committee is due to report back by April 1 1998.
