Executive Summary

The University HealthSystem Consortium Services Corporation (UHCSC) in the US has extended and expanded its supply contract with Nycomed for contrast media products. The new, three-year exclusive agreement now covers Omniscan, an intravenous non-ionic contrast agent for MRI, in addition to the X-ray contrast media already covered - Omnipaque and Visipaque. Norwegian company Nycomed has provided UHCSC's 100 academic health centres and associate members with X-ray contrast media since 1991.
