The US Health Industry Manufacturers Association has succeeded in recruiting its 100th new member company of 1997. This brings total membership to more than 800 companies. At the start of the year HIMA announced efforts to recruit more firms and launch programmes that would enhance the value of membership for medical device manufacturers. HIMA seemed to be "on the right track with both endeavours" said its president, Alan Magazine.
