Paper products manufacturer Kimberly-Clark is to buy Tecnol Medical Products, which makes more than half of the disposable surgical masks used in the US. Tecnol also manufactures woundcare products, orthopaedic devices and disposable blood pressure cuffs. The deal, for around $400 million in K-C stock, strengthens K-C's non-woven fabric products to the professional healthcare market. Tecnol markets more than 300 products, employs some 2,200 people and has export sales to 70 countries.
