Two US companies, University HealthSystem Consortium and VHA, have agreed in principle to combine their supply chain management operations, creating a company with an annual $11.2 billion in sales. The amalgamation, supplying 3,300 hospitals, will save between $300 and $400 million claim the companies, which will honour existing contracts. VHA has also signed a three-year deal with Allegiance Healthcare in which Allegiance continues as an authorised distribution agent (ADA). Only ADAs are allowed to distribute to VHA members.
