Japanese patients are to be allowed to see copies of medical statements relating to their treatment. These statements used to be sent directly to the social insurance fund for payment. This meant that patients were unaware of treatment charges, or indeed which treatment they had been given, the Medical Equipment Journal of Japan reports.
