UK health authorities set for £186 million overspend

Two thirds of English health authorities look set to overspend by a total of £186 million ($298 million) in fiscal 1997, the NHS Executive forecasts. Only 33 of the 98 authorities predict they will be in balance or better when the financial year ends on April 30th. Additionally, NHS trusts are projected to overspend by around £6 million.
