Executive Summary
Imaging manufacturer OEC Medical Systems has taken over the rest of Barwig Medical Systems which it did not already own. OEC purchased 20% of the German C-arm manufacturer last year and paid an undisclosed cash amount for the final 80%. Barwig manufactures OEC's Compact 7600 C-arm which was introduced late last year. A sister product of the Compact, the Series 7600, is also manufactured by Barwig and sold outside the US. The Series 7600 is designed as a low-end imaging system mainly for orthopaedic and needle placement procedures. OEC plans to apply for a 510(k) for the Series 7600.
