Trials of the new device, the Vibrant HF soundbridge, will be conducted alongside pivotal clinical trials of the Vibrant P processor, expanding the target population for treatment to those with a high-frequency, sensorineural hearing loss. The San Jose, California-based company plans to begin trials of a further, digital external audio processor, Vibrant D, in 1999.
