Executive Summary
Acuson is to integrate German company TomTec Imaging System's three-dimensional software technology into its Sequoia and Aspen ultrasound platforms for cardiac, ob/gyn and radiology imaging applications. The programs to be integrated include: foetal assessment surface rendering - useful for imaging the foetal face and limbs during pregnancy - and organ assessment volumetric rendering, which allows physicians to reconstruct multiple-planes and manipulate the reconstructed data sets. Munich-based TomTec is the world leader in 3D imaging with a product line with applications in adult and paediatric cardiology, as well as ob/gyn, radiology and vascular imaging.
