The FDA has approved Guidant's ACS Multi-Link Duet stent in the US. The stent, which is already sold internationally, is designed to be used in a wider range of vessel sizes than its predecessor, the ACS Multi-Link. Results from a non-randomised registry of 174 patients showed successful placement of the device in 99.4% of cases and six-month results are pending.
