Executive Summary
National Computer Systems has been selected by Guidant to track devices manufactured by Guidant's:w cardiac rhythm management group. National's computer-managed system is designed to allow companies to implement the FDA's tracking requirements across 30 different device categories, so that manufacturers can quickly trace their devices to an individual physician and his or her patient group. There are currently thought to be eight million such devices being operated in the US with around a million manufactured each year.
