International Isotopes in the US has bought the isotope- manufacturing subsidiary of MACTEC, as part of its declared strategy to become brand leader in the radiopharmaceutical and radioisotope industry. The subsidiary, formerly known as MAC Isotopes (Idaho), is to be renamed International Isotopes Idaho and will bring in approximately $3 million in revenues. Among other isotope products, the acquired company makes Co-60 under contract for General Electric's gamma knife.
