Executive Summary
In the first full quarter following the acquisition of Coulter by Beckman Instruments, the combined company Beckman Coulter had sales of $399 million. This represents a 72% increase on Beckman's first quarter in 1997. As a private company, Coulter only revealed annual figures of $700 million for the full year in 1996. Currency effects lowered sales by some 5%. The figures include only two months of Coulter's international sales to synchronise the two companies' accounting systems.
