According to Thailand's Business Day, Pakistan was given 12 staff members and received $100,000 in funding from the World Bank to help prepare for the Y2K bug. "It has been tough," said Ijaz Khawaja, Pakistan's Y2K co-ordinator and head of the government computer bureau. "We have a very limited budget and we were relying on a persuasive approach. It was not a lot of money."
