Executive Summary
Growth factor therapy sustained over time appears to be an effective way to revascularise the heart and could be an alternative to bypass surgery, and even newer techniques such as laser revascularisation (TMR), in patients with severe angina. In addition, the treatment appears safe and free of side-effects, according to a double blind, randomised, controlled study reported in the November 2 edition of Circulation.
