Executive Summary

Scottish company AorTech has appointed cardiovascular device company MEDOS distributor of its replacement heart valve products in Germany. AorTech says that MEDOS, which has a 15% share of the German cardiopulmonary product market, will market its products to all German open heart centres. The German heart valve replacement market accounts for over a quarter of the European market and is itself the second largest in the world. AorTech's products include the Ultracor mechanical valve, the tissue heart valve and the mitral repair system.
