Year 2000 progress in Singapore and Thailand:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Every public and private healthcare facility in Singapore, including hospitals, clinics and laboratories, is expected to have completed all Year 2000 compliance checks by the end of next month, according to the Straits Times. One of the island's leading hospitals, Tan Tock Seng, for example, has already tested its more than 800 items of life-support equipment to ensure they will continue to function when the date changes. In Thailand, the government has set up a Co-ordinating Committee for Y2K Problems, says the Bangkok Post. Government agencies are more than 90% Y2K-compliant already, although some problems could occur with hospital ultrasound equipment, the committee believes.
