US firm CryoLife has filed a 510(k) application with the US FDA for clearance to market its BioGlue surgical patch for sealing lung and bronchial tissues during pulmonary procedures. A pre-filled cartridge of the company's BioGlue patch adhesive and a device for delivering the adhesive will be provided together with the patch, said Atlanta, Georgia-based CryoLife. The company's BioGlue surgical adhesive is already available in Europe for vascular and pulmonary repair (see Clinica No 851, p 16).
