Executive Summary
Treating heart patients with stents proves no more expensive in the long-term than treatment with balloon angioplasty alone, according to a US study. The findings, by researchers from the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, add to evidence which shows/2028 the economical and clinical benefits of stenting over angioplasty as a primary treatment for blocked coronary arteries (see Clinica No 850, p 13).
