Executive Summary
Women with silicone breast implant claims have 60 days to decide whether or not to accept Dow Corning's proposed $3.2 billion settlement, details of which they have received in the post. The proposed plan, which was approved last November by the company and a committee representing the claimants, could result in women receiving between $2,000 and $250,000, or choosing to litigate their claims (see Clinica No 834, p 12). The plan is also designed to resolve Dow Corning's chapter 11 bankruptcy.
