Executive Summary
International Isotopes (I3) of Denton, Texas, has formed a joint venture with Austin-based GammaPlus to manufacture and distribute radiopharmaceuticals used in Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The new company, GammaPlus DFW, will distribute short-lived radiopharmaceuticals, including Fluorodeoxyglucose F-18, in Texas and other selected cities in the US. F-18 is widely used in PET whole body scans of patients with newly-diagnosed cancers, especially those of the breast and lung.
