Executive Summary
In three years, all European countries will have new legislation in place allowing passers by to use an emergency defibrillator on a cardiac arrest victim. This legislation will open up so-called "first responder" sales of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) and boost the European emergency and trauma care devices market from $22.4 million last year to $28.4 million by 2005, says a report from Frost & Sullivan.
