Executive Summary
Epix Medical's AngioMark contrast agent gives clear three dimensional magnetic resonance images of the heart in patients allowed to breathe normally, early feasibility studies have shown. The results of the Phase II studies on six patients were presented at the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in Atlanta, Georgia in January. Residual movement of the chest wall increased the level of artefacts in the images. Delineation of the coronary vessels was good and "long portions of the left and right coronary systems could be visualised with sub-millimetre resolution", said the researchers.
