Denmark finds haemodialysis less expensive:

Executive Summary
The cost of hospital-based haemodialysis is not much greater than peritoneal dialysis carried out at home, reveals a new study from researchers at Odense University in Denmark. The researchers, from the university's Centre for Health Service Research and Social Policy, calculated that the difference in cost between haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis is only DKr15,000-DKr130,000 ($2,140-$18,570) and not as much as DKr200,000 as was previously thought. Since haemodialysis is cheaper and peritoneal dialysis more expensive than had been assumed, treatment decisions should be taken on purely clinical grounds, advise the researchers in Ugeskrift for Laeger.
