Executive Summary
The US FDA has cleared ETEX' alpha-BSM for use in the repair and reconstruction of bones in the cheek, chin, face and cranium. The bone substitute material is made from calcium phosphate and has an endothermic hardening property which allows it to remain a moldable or injectable putty at room temperature and harden only in situ at body temperature. Alpha-BSM has been previously cleared for dental and peridontal indications.
