DePuy resolves two part hip cup licence dispute:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

DePuy and Joint Medical Products, both Johnson & Johnson companies, have settled a patent suit brought by BTG, a UK intellectual property commercialising company and licensor of two part hip cups to a number of orthopaedic companies. BTG brought the action in October 1999 regarding a dispute under a pre-existing agreement. The mediated settlement came about because of the "close working relationship" between the companies. BTG claims that 70% of the two part hip products sold in the US are licensed from BTG.
