Contrast-enhanced pulse inversion mode (PIM) ultrasound imaging could rival or better CT and MRI, for the detection of cancerous liver lesions, say researchers at Hammersmith Hospital in London. Despite being less accurate than CT or MRI, ultrasound is the first technique used to assess metastatic liver disease.
