GE Medical Systems Information Technologies (GEMSIT) has bought Ann Arbor, Michigan-based SEC, which develops clinical information systems, for an undisclosed amount. "The key to improving both the efficiency and the quality of patient care is applying integrated systems that eliminate redundancies and streamline workflow," said Gregory Lucier, GEMSIT's president and CEO. Separately, Novametrix Medical Systems is to manufacture reusable pulse oximetry sensors for GE Medical Systems' (GEMS) patient monitors. GEMS will distribute and co-market the sensors.
