German political party supports stem cell research:

Executive Summary

The German Christian Socialist Union (CSU) last week presented a position paper, calling for Germany not to ban the import of embryonic stem cells for research purposes. But the chairman of the CSU Bavarian parliamentary party and ethics commission, Alois Gluck, said that it should only consider importing already existing cell lines. He added that these should only be used for research if all other possibilities, such as research on animals and adult stem cells, had been fully explored.
