Better blood glucose and blood pressure control are among the objectives of new national standards of care for people with diabetes, issued last week by the Department of Health. The National Service Framework (NSF) for diabetes is being published in two stages: a delivery strategy is to be drawn up by summer 2002, ahead of the full implementation of the standards across England in 2003.
