Executive Summary
Preston, Washington-based Advanced Diagnostic Systems (ADI) has agreed that Korea's Samsung Corp will distribute its Avera breast imaging system in Asia. Samsung will buy at least 100 systems, which incorporate ADI's proprietary diffractive imaging energy technology, over a four-year period. The technology enables the provision of highly detailed images of the breast without the use of radiation or painful compression. Samsung will take its first deliveries in 2002, initially targeting medical institutions in Korea. ADI profiled the system at this year's Radiological Society of North America annual meeting.
