The UK's re-use, decontamination and infection control practices have come in for severe criticism once again, following the publication of a survey by the Patients' Association. These issues have been thrust under the spotlight amid allegations that the Department of Health in England has concealed evidence of the high risk of transmission of variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) through surgery (see next issue).
